We Teach People to Present Budgets Like Professionals

Started in a small office in 2019, turned into something much bigger than we expected.

Honestly, we just wanted to help people stop fumbling through budget presentations. Six years later, we're still doing exactly that—just for a lot more professionals across Australia and beyond.

It Started with a Bad Presentation

Our founder, Lachlan Thorburn, sat through a three-hour budget meeting in late 2018 where nobody could follow the numbers. Good data, terrible delivery. People checked their phones. Questions went nowhere.

He'd spent years in corporate finance and saw this pattern everywhere—smart professionals who knew their numbers but couldn't communicate them effectively. So in early 2019, he rented a small space in Tweed Heads and started running weekend workshops.

Word spread faster than expected. By mid-2020, we had a waiting list. Now we run programs throughout the year, with enrollment opening in autumn 2025 for our next cohort starting October 2025.

How We Actually Teach This Stuff

Most budget training focuses on spreadsheet mechanics. We focus on the human side—helping you explain complex financial information so people actually understand and remember it.

01

Real Scenarios Only

We work with actual budget presentations from participants. No generic templates or hypothetical cases. You bring real challenges, we help you solve them.

02

Small Group Practice

Maximum twelve people per cohort. Everyone presents multiple times. You get direct feedback from instructors and peers who understand financial communication.

03

Practical Tools

We teach specific frameworks for structuring budget presentations, handling tough questions, and explaining variances without losing your audience halfway through.

The People Running This

We're a small team. Everyone who teaches has actually worked in financial roles where budget presentations were part of the job—usually the stressful part.

Sienna Korhonen

Lead Instructor

Spent twelve years in mining finance before joining us in 2021. She once had to present a quarterly budget to a board of directors who interrupted every thirty seconds. Now she teaches people how to handle exactly that situation—and about fifty others that come up in real budget meetings.
